Fish Oils - where are they sourced?

Fish Oils

Fish oils provide essential fatty acids that have been well documented recently to improve your health, however it has also been highlighted that fish contains high levels of contaminants such as mercury. Therefore it could actually be harmful to eat large quantities of fish - the answer is omega supplements.  But when taking omega supplements in replacement of fish oils you must always check that the omega supplements are refined at a very high standard.

The fish oils we use come from Sardines and Anchovies caught off the coast of Peru and Chile. The processing of the crude fish oil meets European legislation guidelines for contaminants.

In order to ensure our fish oils have reduced levels of contaminants we actually have our own guidelines that we adhere to - these are lower than European Legislations. Throughout the process we analyse the oil in order to ensure we meet our guidelines.

Omega4's overall objective is Quality. We make sure all our products comply with the EU Directive and with the Council for Responsible Nutrition guidelines. Our production facility and Quality System have been awarded the higher level of accreditation of British Retail Consortium (BRC).
