Omega 6 Fatty Acids
Important Omega 6 fatty acids include: linoleic acid (LA), and gamma linolenic acid (GLA), the latter being a non-essential fatty acid. GLA is synthesized from LA, and because LA cannot alone facilitate bodily functions, it must first be converted to GLA before it becomes a useful fatty acid. The best sources of Omega 6 are seeds and nuts such as pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, rape seeds, and walnuts. Evening Primrose Oil and Starflower Oil also contain high quantities of GLA.
