Omega 4 LifestyleYour Basket is Empty

Bad behaviour and poor performance has been slashed at a school in Bolton, after pupils there have been taking part in a trial for 18 months whereby they take an Omega 3 supplement everyday. Staff say they are astounded by the effect of the Omega 3 on children.
Jane Roscoe, a science teacher at the school said: "When we first started this trial, we really did not expect to see any difference among the children, but the results have exceeded all our expectations. There has been a big difference in the pupils' behaviour and concentration."
Analysis of the trial showed that serious incidents in the school have fallen from up to 20 a month to just 4. In the first 6 months of the trial, serious incidents fell to 41 compared with 170 incidents in the 6 months previous. Exam results have also improved with 86% of literacy scores improving on average by 17%. Attendance also improved by 10%.
Mrs Roscoe said: "Our standard Assessment Test scores increased and we are hoping our GCSE results will also be up. This study is cited in research documents."
At the start of the trial there was only a cross section of pupils who took part in the trial, but the impact was so great on the pupils that every child is now offered the Omega 3 supplement and the take-up is almost 100%.
Carol Darbyshire, a school counsellor said: "Because the children are a lot calmer, they are more receptive to learning because their concentration levels are improved."
Kieran Swanton, aged 14 said: "Before I started taking the supplement I was very naughty, I used to be sent home and did not settle. But now I feel a lot calmer and find it easier to concentrate."
Professor Amanda Kirby form the University of Wales commented on the results saying: "The results are encouraging. There has been anecdotal evidence that fatty acids improve concentration and children are calmer, there does seem to be a correlation between inattentiveness and lower levels of fatty acids."
