Omega 4 LifestyleYour Basket is Empty

Children aged between six months and two and a half years who receive daily doses of fatty acids contained in oily fish are better able to express themselves, understand others and bond with their parents.
Children who took essential fat supplements every day for five months made substantial progress in communication and social skills. More than half the group studied who were receiving omega-3 fatty acids and were rated as having poor or very poor concentration and behaviour levels - improved to average or better in both.
Previous research suggested that omega-3 improved reading, spelling and behaviour and lessened the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children of primary school age. Sixty-five children from poor backgrounds in the town of Peterlee, Co Durham, were selected for the year-long trial, which was paid for by the Sure Start programme aimed at helping less well-off communities.
